A big and beautiful cat was he,
Affectionate and fun.
He liked it when you talked to him,
He'd jump and play and run.

He liked to talk right back to Dad,
It sounded just the same.
He made just the right sounds to say,
"I love to play this game!"

A member of your family,
Has left and gone away'
It's natural that you are sad,
You'll miss him every day.

You're feeling bad, but think of him
Your Wolffie, young and new,
You gave him lots of hugs and love.

And he'll remember you.
By Grandma Bunny

Our love bug, Wolffie, was part of our family. Someone made the mistake of abandoning him so long ago. Our neighbor, Jan saved him and brought him home. Fortunately, Bill chose him from Jan's little home pet shop to join our crazy crew. Cybil needed a friend, and so did Bill, As Cybil was clearly Barb's. He was quiet and followed Cybil's rules while she ruled the roost. After she went to Heaven, he started to find his voice (prior to that he hardly ever meowed).

Although he was Billy's little buddy from the start, he fell in love with Cassie when she came along. He eventually started to come to Mommy more and more too. He would get absolutely freaked out with each move to a new home. One moving day from Penn Hills, he almost knocked Mommy over and hid under the waterbed. Nothing would coax him out! We had to take the bed apart before he would emerge. Thus, we were surprised by how well he did with the Big move to Virginia. It was then that we found he had renal failure, as our Vet, Dr. Martin gave him his last Pennsylvania check-up. He did well on low protein food, but just has an upset tummy frequently. He was pretty easy-going.

He loved the bird and squirrel-filled trees here on Greenwood Lane. He even grew to like the sun porch after some practice. He was an indoor Kitty and was uneasy when out of his element. Wolffie was never much of a rodent warrior. Years ago, when we had a mouse in the house in Monroeville, Wolffie paced a bit then just laid there watching Cybil chase it. We had a rodent in the game room in Virginia Beach and he didn't even warn us. We had to do all the work to catch it. He even let the Brownie troop's hamster steal food from his dish when it escaped. This was amazing, as Wolffie loved his food and became extremely distraught when he could see the bottom of the dish. I guess he was just a lover and not a fighter!

And, a lover he was... He loved to have his ears scratched, bumm patted, snugle, and just hang out with us. He loved to have conversations and have us sing to him. When mommy wouid sneeze, he would meow God Bless you in his own special way, every time! He was really sweet. His signal for lovin' was the hair dryer time with mom, back before we had kids. Mason has now taken over hair dryer time. He almost always came running in hopes of finding lovins or food when his name was called. He loved to box and rough-house with Daddy, his very best friend. He also loved to lay on anything Cassie had worn. He was extremely upset when we took her out with us and came home without her. As soon as we would get out of the shower, he would jump in and lick the water. Wolffie always seemed to know when we were upset and shared a little cheer. Cassie says he was very good at keeping secrets too. He was her best friend.

He was a wonderful little loyal friend with a big warm heart. We are sure that he was greeted at Heaven's gate by Cybil and Grammy. We are also sure that Cybil is already trying to boss him around again. Maybe now, he'll meow back at her!

We treasure his memory and will miss him very much.

PROVERBS 12:10
A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal

ECCLESIATES 3:19-20
Man's fate is like that of the animals, the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so does the other; All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless, All go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return. (NIV)

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

LUKE 3:6
"All flesh shall see the salvation of God." (KJV)

Pope John Paul II
"No human being can be justified in claiming absolute ownership of animals for the simple reason that God alone owns creation. Animals do not simply exist for us nor belong to us. They exist primarily for God and belong to God. The whole work of creation belongs to the plan of salvation," "The mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things" Through the act of creation of the world, and especially of man, the plan of salvation begins to be realized. Pope John Paul II loved all animals, being the first pope to proclaim that "the animals possess a soul and men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren", and that animals are "fruit of the creatice action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect" and are "as near to God as men are".

PSALMS 50:10-11
For all forest creatures are mine already, the animals on the mountains in their thousands, I know every bird in the air, whatever moves in the fields is mine.

. From Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit

. From Matthew 5:4
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted

. From Revelation 21:4
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

"A good name is better than a good ointment, and the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth. " -- Ecclesiates 7:1/
